Understanding Bangladesh Mobile Prefix Capacity
In the BTRC National Numbering Plan, each 3-digit mobile prefix (e.g. 017 or 018) provides a maximum theoretical capacity of 100 million subscriber numbers (8-digit subscriber part ranging from 00000000 to 99999999).
When Grameenphone and Banglalink approached subscriber capacity limits on 017 and 019, BTRC allocated expansion prefixes 013 (to GP) and 014 (to BL) to ensure uninterrupted line growth for mobile users across Bangladesh.
